Digital Asset Management Ltd’s (“DAM”) value proposition is to effectively assist in buying, managing and storing cryptocurrencies and tokens in a regulated environment. DAM is a licensed and regulated provider and will only participate in services in relation to digital assets which would not be deemed Financial Instruments or Collective Investment Schemes under Gibraltar law.

We are dedicated to make ownership and management of Digital Assets simplified and secure whilst educating our customers for the future of Digital Assets and distributed ledger technologies.

DAM has been authorised and licensed as a Distributed Ledger Technology provider with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission for the purposes of Digital Asset custodianship and digital asset management. Our team, advisors and board of directors are dedicated to drive adoption, education and innovative investment strategies in distributed ledger technologies and their derived asset classes.

Sam Buxton

Co Founder and Chief Executive Office

A student of finance with a Bachelor”s Degree in Finance and an MBA in Banking and Finance. Sam is also a Chartered Banker in the UK. Sam is an entrepreneur and an investor living in Gibraltar. He has worked for multiple fintech startups and is passionate about venture creation and blockchain.

Sam Buxton has experience managing portfolios of a range of asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Structured Products, Commodities, FX and Digital Assets. In 2012, Sam joined the Investment Challenge Team at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as an Equity Analyst, where his team outperformed the S&P 500 in 2013 with a return of 44.15%.

In 2013, Sam also completed his CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) investment research course where he was awarded a CFA certificate for outstanding investment research. This CFA initiative promotes best practices in equity research through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills.

From August 2014 to May 2016, Sam joined Plurimi Wealth in Gibraltar as an Equity Analyst and direct support for the head of portfolio management. Plurimi’s offerings included advisory, discretionary and execution only Mandates.

In September 2017, sam completed his MBA in Banking and Finance from Bangor University, where his research on new venture creation and crowdfunding has been officially published by Bangor and available to read in Bangor University Library.

Philip Vasquez

Co Founder & Head of Compliance and Strategy

Philip is a highly motivated individual able to manage and deliver on innovative and ambitious projects. As a barrister and practising solicitor over the past 4 years, Philip has developed a practice in advising on commercial law, regulation, technology and dispute resolution where he has appeared before all of Gibraltar’s courts. Most recently Philip has been involved in advising businesses on distributed ledger technology licensing, initial token offerings (& participant dispute resolution), blockchain mining contracts and cryptocurrency EIF funds.

Prior to practising in Gibraltar, Philip worked for one of London’s most innovative fintech startups where he was principally involved in drafting terms and conditions for over a million users, negotiating and drafting high value data (API) agreements and directly supporting the CEO and CFO on strategy, policy and funding.

Today, Philip is also regarded for holding various positions of responsibility as a board member of the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses (2017-18), council member of the Gibraltar Bar Council (2015-18) the representative body of Gibraltar’s legal profession, organiser of the Gibraltar Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Community and former early founder and co-organiser of the Gibraltar Startup Community. He has also written and published his first book.

If he is not skiing, writing or travelling he is likely trying to learn a new skill, like a language or sport… or playing with the nearest dog he can find.

Thomas Johnson

Co founder and Chief Operating Officer

Thomas brings a strong B2C, B2B and Blockchain foundation to the team. His working career started in 2005 with the British Army, working closely with national and foreign military units in Gibraltar. He served for 8 years in this role and brings with him a wealth of practical experience.

Thomas later joined some of Gibraltar’s leading Online Gaming companies – Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment and GVC PLC. Thomas left GVC as a VIP Account Manager where held relationships with high-net-worth individuals before joining WaveCrest Holdings. At WaveCrest Thomas took on the role of Supervising Manager of B2B operations. In this role he managed the Business Partner Services team and held key business relationships with respected blockchain businesses, such as Xapo and Wirex.

Thomas’ experience with Blockchain started in mining Cryptocurrencies. With this entry into market it allowed him to explore the world of Blockchain and Digital Assets further. He started to trade on exchanges and educate other people of the possibilities and risks of Digital Assets. Unable to find any accessible local community or forum to discuss developments in Blockchain, Thomas founded the Gibraltar Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Community late 2017.

He is a dedicated sailor competing in various regattas year round, a volunteer for local animal shelters and father to two dogs. Thomas values a progressive culture, integrity and is results focused.

Simon Hobbs

Co founder and Chief Technology Officer

Backed by 28 years of experience in Enterprise IT, Simon has a proven track record of delivering complex distributed IT projects on time and on budget. He specializes in the architecture, rapid delivery and operation of high volume back offices and systems for the gaming and banking industries. His technical skills span the complete range of disciplines, including management, leadership, systems architecture,  software development, database design, systems administration, security, audit, datacenter management, operations, project and program management.

After obtaining top honors MSc in Computer science in 1989, Simon went on to design missile guidance systems at British aerospace. Joining Perot Systems in 1994, he became the Head of E-Commerce for Europe where he implemented complete systems for a number of banks including Barclays in the UK, UBS in Switzerland.  At UBS he managed over 90 developers rolling out new banking applications to 20,000 UBS employees in less than 18 months.

In 1998 he came to Gibraltar to design, architect and build the world’s first full service online sports book at Victor Chandler (Bet Victor).  This was hugely successful taking millions of bets per day, and the system went on to power many other major gaming companies.  Joining Netkan Plc (Gibraltar) in 2011, in addition to managing the IT operations, he designed and built a highly flexible new generation gaming platform which was instrumental in their achieving operational profitability.

For the last 12 months, Simon has been working on Blockchain platforms, developing some of the underlying technologies powering a number of today coins.  He has extensive experience with Bitcoin and Ethereum integrations and solutions.

Senior Advisor

Kieran is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners. He is a partner in the Moore Stephens Offshore Group which comprises Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man and Director of the Moore Stephens office in San Pedro de Alcantara. As part of the latter position Kieran is also a Board Member of Moore Stephens Hispania S.L. which is the umbrella entity presiding over the Moore Stephens presence throughout Spain.

He has, since 2013, been a Board Member of the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.

Kieran joined Moore Stephens in 2010, having spent the previous 13 years as the Head of Fiduciary Services & Enforcement in the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. Prior to that Kieran undertook audit and assurance work with KPMG and PriceWaterhouse.

Miljan is a Senior Vice President in Brightstar Corporation (a Softbank Company).

Miljan has over 17 years’ experience in corporate America and has held multiple executive leadership roles in the mobile telecommunications space. In his most recent assignment, he was responsible for managing Brightstar’s global strategic partnership with tech giants including Apple, Samsung, Google. Miljan’s entrepreneurial spirits pioneered new business models which have driven billions worth of revenue and significant equity value creation the last five years. His proven leadership, strategic vision, innovation, financial background, and execution experience will be critical for the projected structured growth of DAM.

Tony is an experienced ‘C’ level sales and business professional with over 25 years’ experience in building successful sales teams and delivering revenue growth.

Tony’s core experience is in Executive Search and Consulting to the Technology sector. His company Precision Projects is based in Gibraltar and provides specialist talent to the Financial Services and Banking arena. His clients include tier one banks , banking software providers, system integrators and Fintech companies.

Beyond the technology sector Tony has consulted to numerous businesses across a variety of endeavors. As well as providing recruitment solutions to clients, Tony also provides consultancy to small and medium size enterprises, where he can have a direct and visible impact on results. Services include; sales and marketing, executive training and product development and launch strategies.

Peter Bassill is currently the CEO & Founder of Hedgehog Security Ltd based in Gibraltar.

Peter is the founder and the CEO of the firm, but he spends the vast majority of his time working with clients as their CISO and when he is not doing this he is carrying out various pieces of research. Peter is also team principle for Hedgehog’s Motorsport team. Peter has be working within Information Security since 1996 operating from a varied background of military, government and FTSE 250 businesses.

Martin Carey is currently a Portfolio Manager at European Investment Management based in London.

Martin specialises in non UK domiciled private client wealth and manages multi asset investment portfolios using various global custodian banks to deliver his clients’ objectives. Martin was at Lloyds Bank for 22 years including three years at their International Private Banking office in Hong Kong. Martin has also worked with MBMG in Singapore, Nordea Private Bank in Switzerland and, prior to joining European Wealth in the Autumn 2017 Plurimi Wealth in Gibraltar.
